The procedure itself spans approximately an hour and a half, with a price tag of around $400. However, it is not universally suitable. Those with lighter skin tones, specifically Fitzpatrick scale 1 to 4, are the primary candidates. Individuals with skin conditions such as rosacea or eczema are advised against pursuing this treatment due to potential adverse reactions. Following the procedure, clients must avoid products like retinol, exfoliants, and skin lasers on the tattooed area for about three years to ensure optimal results.
Grace Clarke, a marketing consultant and former Allure editor, recently underwent the tattoo blush treatment and shared her experience on TikTok. Her video quickly went viral, amassing over a million views and igniting a heated conversation online. Some commenters were skeptical, with a few labeling the treatment as “insane.” Savannah Messenger, owner of Velvet Cosmetic Tattoos and Clarke’s tattoo artist, explained that the initial redness seen in Clarke’s video was largely due to the skin’s natural reaction to being tattooed.
