Love in the Malibu Mountains: Lana Condor and Anthony De La Torre Tie the Knot in Intimate Ceremony
Lana Condor and Anthony De La Torre have taken a significant step in their relationship, sealing their love with a heartfelt wedding ceremony atop the scenic Malibu mountains. The event took place at the Serra Franciscan Retreat Center, a location that holds sentimental value for Lana, as she first visited the center with her mother during her high school days. This intimate celebration marked the culmination of their engagement, which began in December 2021 during a Christmas holiday in Mexico.
The couple’s journey began at an Emmys party in 2015, where they met and immediately hit it off, leading to their first date the following day. The wedding ceremony brought together their closest friends and family, who witnessed the couple exchange vows in a setting described by Lana as “timeless and airy, whimsical and natural.” The newlyweds decided to commemorate the occasion by getting their wedding date tattooed on their arms, marking their first tattoos. Many guests joined in this unique celebration by getting tattoos as well.
The planning process for the wedding was notably smooth, thanks to the expertise of Alex Moreau of XO Moreau. Lana had chosen her wedding dress nearly two years prior but selected the rest of her wardrobe more spontaneously, with the help of friend and stylist Brandon Nicholas. The wedding stationery, designed by East Rose Studio, matched the elegant and timeless theme of the event while incorporating a Spanish flair that resonated with the venue’s ambiance and fall season.
Lana and Anthony’s desire for a romantic and classic wedding infused with colors appropriate for fall was evident in every aspect of the celebration. Their friends and family enjoyed live music provided by Professor D of Jordan Kahn Music Company, alongside a feast featuring all of the couple’s favorite foods and two exquisite wedding cakes.
“We wanted it to feel timeless and airy, whimsical and natural,” – Lana
The wedding ceremony was not just a celebration of love but a cherished moment for Lana and Anthony. As she expressed, “Being up there in front of all their friends and family, making the ultimate life vow, is a moment we will cherish forever.” This sentiment echoed throughout the event, which Lana described as “an emotional and joyous occasion,” adding that the feeling was “peaceful and deeply present.”
Reflecting on their engagement, Lana shared how Anthony’s original plans were thwarted due to illness during their trip to Mexico. Despite this setback, Anthony adapted beautifully to the circumstances.
“Anthony had planned this elaborate engagement on a cliffside with musicians and food and everything, but we had gotten sick so we were in the room,” – Lana
“He was in a bad mood, and I didn’t know why at the time, but it was because his plans had been foiled,” – Lana
In an intimate moment that captured their relationship’s essence, Anthony proposed to Lana in their room. He expressed his love and adaptability to life’s unexpected turns.
“I was so shocked and surprised, and he bent down and said, ‘This isn’t how I was planning to do this. But it feels so fitting to our relationship that we always can adjust and be flexible when things don’t go perfectly to plan’,” – Lana
“He said so many other beautiful things, and finally asked me to be his wife. It was truly the best moment of my life,” – Lana
Lana described herself as difficult to surprise, yet Anthony managed to do so flawlessly.
“I am a hard person to surprise, and he pulled it off perfectly. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way,” – Lana
Their love for personal touches extended beyond their engagement story. Lana shared her affection for stationery.
“I have loved stationery for years and collect various stationeries throughout all my travels,” – Lana
This passion was reflected in the elegant wedding stationery that complemented the event’s tone. The couple’s friend Art Hunter played an essential role in capturing their tastes for both the stationery and overall style of the wedding.
“He and his partner Art Hunter have known Anthony and I for years, so he knows what we like at our core,” – Lana
Anthony’s choice for his ceremony tuxedo was guided by his desire for timelessness.
“Anthony really wanted his ceremony tuxedo to feel timeless,” – Lana
The wedding weekend concluded with a farewell brunch held at Lana and Anthony’s home in Los Angeles. They extended an invitation to their guests for one final unique celebration, hiring a tattoo artist who provided tattoos for anyone interested.
