Michelle Pfeiffer is set to shine in the forthcoming Apple TV+ adaptation of Rufi Thorpe’s novel, “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.” The series, produced by A24, was given a straight-to-series order following a competitive multi-platform bidding war. Esteemed writer and producer David E. Kelley will pen the series and serve as showrunner, marking his first professional collaboration with his wife, Michelle Pfeiffer. Joining her in the cast are Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman, both bringing their star power to this anticipated series.
“Margo’s Got Money Troubles” unfolds in the intriguing world of subscription-based content platform, with a unique wrestling twist. The story centers around Margo Millet, portrayed by Elle Fanning, an unemployed single mother in her early 20s striving to make ends meet. To support herself and her child, Margo launches an exclusive account, navigating the complexities of this bold career choice. Michelle Pfeiffer will portray Shyanne, Margo’s mother, who has spent considerable time working at Bloomingdales and previously at Hooters. Nicole Kidman is believed to take on the role of Margo’s professor’s mediator, adding another layer of intrigue to the narrative.
The series brings together an impressive team of executive producers including Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning, and Brittany Kahan Ward through Lewellen Pictures. Pfeiffer, represented by CAA, Entertainment360, and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman, is not only starring but also executive producing.
