The 3rd Annual Caring For Women Dinner took place at The Pool in New York City on September 9, 2024. This star-studded event drew an illustrious crowd that included celebrities, business leaders, and advocates for women’s rights. Attendees like Salma Hayek, Kim Kardashian, and Lauren Sánchez, the president and CEO of the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), graced the occasion. The dinner successfully raised nearly 3 million dollars, with proceeds benefiting Girl Effect, It’s On Us, and NNEDV.

The event is renowned for its guest list that rivals Hollywood’s most prestigious gatherings, such as the Oscars. Among those present were actors Matthew McConaughey and Viola Davis, model Karlie Kloss, and designer Jennifer Meyer. Stephanie Love-Patterson, president and CEO of NNEDV, experienced her first red carpet moment at this impactful event.

Viola Davis delivered a powerful speech that resonated deeply with both the audience and survivors present. She spoke passionately about the importance of love and protection in overcoming adversity.

“Shockingly or not, most women chose the bear.”
“It’s love, active love, radical love, love that is running in short supply in this world.”
“But my God, we need it like water, the love that protects you, the love that makes you feel safe, that frees you.”
“A love that can only live if we all do a love that’s not going to leave you behind, that can hold you, look into your eyes and tell you with deep conviction that you are not dirty.”

Stephanie Love-Patterson expressed her gratitude for the attention brought to their cause by such a distinguished gathering.

“We don’t often get this type of attention, and the fact that so many celebrities and wonderful people are filling this room all to talk about our organizations is amazing.” – Stephanie Love-Patterson

Lauren Sánchez’s participation underscored NNEDV’s commitment to ending domestic violence. Her presence alongside other advocates highlighted the ongoing struggle to protect and empower women globally.
