Baby greens (like watercress) are among the most nutritious vegetables with the added comfort of being grown easily in gardens or homes. The amount of nutrients and enzymes present in them is higher than mature plants, since they are in the early stages of growth. They protect against carcinogens and contain vast amounts of vitamins C, E and K. It only necessary to plant them, water as necessary and harvest them in a few weeks.

Broccoli is a well-known nutritious vegetable, particularly in its sprout phase. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer capabilities. It will also boost the immune system and purge toxins from your system. You can eat broccoli with other vegetables for increased nutritional benefits.

Onions have similar cancer fighting and anti-inflammatory capabilities. They can also be helpful to diabetics and in preventing weight-gain. It is important to avoid over peeling onions, as most antioxidants reside in their outer layers.

Another popular vegetable, Spinach has well-known anti-cancer capabilities and is a rich source of K1 vitamin, magnesium, folate and potassium among other nutrients. It will also help boost short-term memory and lower heart disease risk. Still, spinach is to be avoided if a person suffers from kidney stones.

Kale is a rich source of amino acids, A, C and K vitamins. It is also proven that it can slow cancer cell growth and repair the DNA cell structure. It is abundant in in carotenoids that are responsible for eyesight.

Fermented Vegetables (e.g. Cabbage)

Cabbage is readily available everywhere and can be fermented, thereby increasing the amount of beneficial microorganisms, which aid by boosting the immune system, in weight loss and in the prevention of diabetes and various mood disorders.

Avocados, Kiwis and Berries are amongst the most nutritionally valuable fruits. All of them boast anti-inflammatory capabilities, are rich in antioxidants and vitamins and help fight cancer cells.

In particular, Avocados possess beneficial fats and are rich in potassium. They also aid the body in the absorption of nutrients.

Berries (strawberries, blueberries, etc.), apart from having a high vitamin content, are an exceptional source of minerals and bioactive compounds. The latter help reduce heart disease, cancer, diabetes and inflammation risks.

Beef comes from a variety of sources, but consumers should opt for meat coming from organic grass-fed animals. It has a higher nutritional value, less antibiotics and bacteria. Beef has a substantial amount of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other valuable compounds. According to expert Dr Mercola, opting for grass-fed beef liver is ever better, as it has more benefits than any other food (e.g. vitamins B, D and iron).
