William Conrad’s intrigue with the drink led him to launch Spritzi, a canned cold brew tonic, in the US this spring. Available in orange, strawberry dragonfruit, and classic coffee flavors, Spritzi reflects Conrad’s passion for creating a light and refreshing beverage.
“It’s light and refreshing in a way that other coffee options like lattes or cold brew aren’t,” said William Conrad.
While Starbucks reports that cold drinks account for over 75% of its sales, the espresso tonic is poised to become a beverage that bridges the gap between morning coffee and evening refreshments. Zach Coffey, co-founder of Spritzi, noted an increase in espresso tonics appearing on independent cafe menus across the country during his travels.
“It was a totally novel concept for me, but it perfectly satisfied the longstanding desire I’d had for a sparkly coffee drink, after realizing that simply adding regular fizzy water doesn’t work on a flavor or textural level,” shared Laura Reilly.
“I actually had no idea they were not a new drink,” added Laura Reilly.
For those wanting to try this bold cold brew alternative at home, it’s accessible once sampled at a local cafe or via Spritzi. Customers often inquire about mixing the espresso tonic with milk or chocolate syrup, indicating its potential for customization.
Bianca Smith expressed enthusiasm about introducing espresso tonics to new customers.
“It’s been really fun to watch people experience something for the first time totally and be surprised by how much they like it,” Bianca Smith observed.
